FAQ

Getting started
How does the whole thing work?
Add your video, install the extension, then watch other members’ videos from the market. The time you are watched is written to you as a debt with a 48-hour countdown.
You repay it by opening that member’s profile and watching their videos until the time adds up. There is no category requirement — everyone gets exactly as much as they give.
Why is the extension required?
Watch time and interactions can only be verified inside the browser. Without the extension nobody could prove they actually watched, and the exchange would collapse into empty promises.
Which browsers does the extension work in?
On desktop: Chrome, Edge, Brave and Opera. On Android only Kiwi and Yandex browsers can install Chrome extensions; on iOS none can. Mobile members should use our application instead.
Debts
What happens if I cannot repay in time?
The video that received the engagement leaves the market for 3 days and returns automatically. If 3 debts go unpaid within 7 days, all your videos are closed for 7 days.
How much do I have to watch to clear a debt?
Exactly the amount shown on the debts page, in whole minutes. You may spread it over any of that member’s videos.
The extension pauses the video the moment the debt is cleared and tells you. If you keep watching, the extra time becomes a debt in your favour.
The other party has no video in the market. What now?
Your debt stays open and the countdown keeps running. As soon as they publish a video it appears in your debt box. If the deadline passes while they have no video, contact us and we will review the case.
Does paying a debt create a new debt for the other side?
No. A payment interaction is recorded as repayment only; it never opens a new debt. Otherwise two members would owe each other forever.
Extension
Can I use my package on another computer?
No. The package binds to a single computer on first activation.
If you change computers, open the extension page and create a new token there — the same button is also in your settings — then download the package again. The old installation becomes invalid.
My watch time is not increasing
Look at the badge in the corner of the YouTube page; it states the reason. The usual causes are: the tab was not opened from YouCanTube, engagement is active in another tab, or the sound is fully off.
Also check that the video is actually playing at normal speed and that your extension is up to date.
Why can’t I just open YouTube and watch?
Because the system has to know which tab you mean. Opening the video from YouCanTube removes the guesswork: that tab becomes the active engagement tab automatically.
Guessing is what used to make members lose their watch time — an old forgotten YouTube tab could hold the right while the tab they were really watching counted nothing.
What happens if I watch the same video again?
For one and the same channel, a video is worth at most its own length however many times you watch it. Watching again earns what is left of that length, not a second full payment.
If you switch to another of your channels, the same video becomes watchable again: the ledger is per channel, and that channel has never watched it.
The card tells you what you have given to that video with the current channel.
How do I find videos in my own language?
Choose the language of each channel and video when you add it. In the video market, tick the language filter and you will only see members who speak your language.
The same filter bar also lets you hide videos you have already watched, show only members you owe, or show only videos still open to engagement. Your choices stay in the address bar, so you can bookmark the view you like.
What do the colours on the extension icon mean?
Green (empty): everything is fine, you have no open debts.
Amber number: that many open debts. Click the icon to see the list.
Amber "UP": a new version of the extension is available and you should update.
Amber exclamation mark: the extension is not linked to your account yet — paste the token from the extension page and activate it.
Red exclamation mark: the connection was refused. Usually for one of two reasons: your token was revoked, or the extension was activated on another device. Get a fresh token from the extension page and reconnect; if it keeps happening, write to us.
Channel and growth
How is my channel growth calculated?
The first measurement taken after you add a channel is fixed as that channel's subscriber count at joining. Growth is the percentage change against that number, measured again every few hours while your engagement is on. Each of your channels is tracked separately, with its own starting point and its own chart.
How many channels can I add?
One. Each account is for one channel, and that channel may hold up to 25 videos.
If you have more than one channel, open a separate membership for each: a separate browser profile, its own extension, and a different email address.
I have more than one channel — what should I do?
Open a separate membership for each channel: a separate browser profile, its own extension there, and a different email address.
The reason is on YouTube's side: while you watch, the extension sees which channel you are signed in as and expects it to match the channel registered on your account. With several channels in one account, a like given while signed in as the wrong channel would be credited to a different channel.
Why can I not change my channel's language and niche?
Because those two do more than label your channel: they decide whether other people's videos are open to you.
If they could be changed, this would be possible: look like "every niche" all day and watch everything, then pull the channel into a narrow niche and close your own video to that same audience. Writing them once prevents it.
If you genuinely picked the wrong one, write to us through the contact page and we will correct the record.
I saw a locked card in the market — what does it mean?
The owner opened that video to a specific audience and your channel falls outside it. The thumbnail and duration stay visible; the title, channel name and link are hidden.
Click the (i) mark on the card to read the reason: language, niche or region. What decides it is your own channel's language and niche.
If you have more than one channel, switching to another may open the same video. And if you owe that channel a debt, the video is never locked for you — you must be able to repay.
Can I add a video from another channel?
No. Every video you add must belong to the channel registered on your account; the system checks which channel the video belongs to.
You repay the engagement your video receives. If the video is not your channel's, the benefit goes to someone else and the debt stays with you.
Account
How do I stop receiving engagement for a while?
Turn engagement off in your settings, or lower your daily capacity. Your videos leave the market immediately and no new debts are created. Open debts must still be paid.
What happens to my data if I close my account?
Your videos leave the market, your token is revoked and your personal details are anonymised. Interaction records are kept in aggregate form for the integrity of other members ledgers.
Is this against the rules of video platforms?
Platforms discourage coordinated engagement. We reduce the risk with real watch-time verification, a daily limit in minutes and one-device binding, but the responsibility for your channel remains yours.
